FCRA Advanced Certificate

The FCRA Advanced Certificate Program is intended for US background screening professionals looking to demonstrate a commitment to compliance within their organization. The Advanced Certificate Program is ideal for individuals in compliance or legal roles as well as anyone who regularly deals with compliance issues within their organization such as operations, leadership, and customer service. This course is focused on US background screening and is offered as an online option, consisting of four training webinars and an exam. The content and exam focus on complex and cutting-edge Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) compliance issues. One must hold a current FCRA Core Certificate to participate in the Advanced Certificate Program.

Earning Criteria

One must hold an active FCRA Core Certificate to begin working towards earning an FCRA Advanced Certificate.

This course is offered as an online option, consisting of four training webinars and an exam. The training webinars cover the following topics:

  • Credentialing, Certifications, and Contracts

  • Accuracy, Matching and 613

  • Disputes and File Disclosures

  • FCRA Nuances

Upon completion of the webinar series, participants will have access to a multiple-choice exam.

Individuals have two opportunities to pass the exam. A score of 80% must be achieved to pass the exam. The exam must be completed within 60 days of the purchase date. Upon achieving a passing grade, participants receive a certificate valid for two years and can display the relevant certificate logo.


Those who do not pass the exam on their second attempt must re-purchase the program while retaining the Core Certificate. If your Core Certificate expires before you've re-purchased the Advanced Certificate, you will need to purchase and pass the Core Certificate exam before moving forward with the Advanced Certificate.
